OFFSEASON RANKINGS: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS' DEFENSE BETTER THAN SUPER BOWL SEASON?

Defense was a key in the Kansas City Chiefs season last year, and it's time to look at how their defense stacks up heading into the new season.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report, they rank each NFL team based on how good their defense is following the 2024 NFL Draft. They rank the Chiefs near the top at No. 4, as they have one of the best groups in the entire league.

"The Chiefs defense was better than just good enough for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era in 2023," Bleacher Reports writes. "The important thing was that they brought back Chris Jones. He should anchor a pass rush that continues to enable Spagnuolo's defense to cause opposing offenses headaches."

The team did lose one their best performers this offseason, as they traded star corner L'Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans. Despite that, the Chiefs have young cornerbacks who could step up big this season. One thing that they could work on, however, is their run defense.

"The free agent market is pretty well picked over at this point, but they should be on the lookout for defensive tackles as teams start cutting down their rosters."

They were in the bottom half of the league in rushing yards allowed last season, and improving that area could be key in the team's efforts to making it to the Super Bowl once again.
